Professional Biography
Luke Parker is the Managing Director of Acres Engineering, where he leads the company’s strategy, growth, and industrial evolution. His current role combines business management, internal capability development, continuous improvement, and decision-making aimed at maintaining Acres as a technical provider of customized industrial solutions.
His education provides a very comprehensive technical and management foundation. He studied mechanical and manufacturing engineering at the University of Derby, where he also completed a Master’s in Professional Engineering with Distinction. Additionally, he pursued a PGCert in Strategic Leadership for Executives at the University of Chester, strengthening his profile in corporate governance, leadership, strategy, and business management.
This combination of engineering, manufacturing, and leadership allows him to lead Acres with a practical and realistic vision. His profile unites technical knowledge, industrial experience, and strategic capability, with a focus on quality, efficiency, people development, and sustainable growth.
Career and Leadership at Acres Engineering
Between 2005 and 2010, Luke Parker built his technical foundation within the industrial environment, starting with an apprenticeship in manufacturing engineering and then moving through positions such as 3D CAD Designer in SolidWorks and Estimation and Sales Engineer. This period allowed him to gain close insight into manufacturing, design, costs, customer relations, and the real viability of each project.
Between 2010 and 2014, as General Manager, he drove a period of growth and internal professionalization. During this time, Acres increased its turnover from approximately £700,000 to £1,200,000, implemented a system based on ISO 9001:2008, strengthened its management team, and promoted a culture of continuous improvement, including the incorporation of a 5S manager.
Between 2014 and 2017, as Director, he participated in defining the company’s strategy, rebranding, investment in CNC machinery, improvement of IT systems, team training, supply chain development, and the promotion of apprenticeship programs. He also promoted the automation of internal processes and new industrial capabilities such as investment in a lacquering oven.
Since 2017, as Managing Director, Luke has led Acres Engineering with a vision closely connected to the company’s industrial reality. During this period, the group’s international expansion has been driven, including the opening of Acres Engineering Europe in Malaga in 2022, and recognitions such as the Make UK Manufacturing Impact Award 2025, the Armed Forces Covenant Gold Award, and The King’s Award for Enterprise – Promoting Opportunity have been consolidated.
