Acres Engineering was founded in 1947 in Melbourne, Derbyshire, developing agricultural machinery and practical solutions for real-world work requirements. From its inception, the company built a culture based on innovation, technical quality, and close client collaboration.

Over the years, Acres evolved towards the design and manufacture of technical equipment for industrial environments, expanding its capabilities in handling, logistics, storage, access, lifting, industrial furniture, and production support.

This journey combines workshop experience, engineering knowledge, and manufacturing expertise, enabling the development of robust, functional solutions adapted for real-world plant use.

Today, Acres Engineering Europe continues this evolution from Malaga, providing industrial design, technical support, and project management for international clients seeking customized solutions with high standards.

1947 - Origin of Acres Engineering

Acres Engineering was founded in 1947 in Melbourne, Derbyshire, by Frank Fryer, Fred Clayton, and Roger Collins. The company began by developing agricultural machinery, with a notable first product: a rotary cultivator that won a gold medal at the Worcester Three Counties Show in 1949, establishing from the outset a culture based on innovation, technical excellence, and client collaboration.

1960s - Evolution towards Industrial Handling Equipment

During the 1960s, Acres expanded its activity into the development of industrial handling equipment, initially for the brewing industry and later for other production sectors, applying its expertise in mechanical design and manufacturing to solutions designed to move, position, support, and facilitate real-world plant operations.

2000 - Consolidation as a Comprehensive Engineering Provider

With the turn of the new millennium, Acres evolved into a comprehensive service model, combining CAD design, manufacturing, assembly, finishing, load testing, technical documentation, and Lean support to offer complete, manufacturable industrial solutions adapted to an increasingly automated, regulated, and demanding industry.

In 2013, Acres announced a new phase of expansion linked to its growth and continuous improvement plan, incorporating additional manufacturing space, investment in equipment, and staff training.
