Bespoke Transport Stillage for Lotus
Project description
Acres developed a bespoke industrial stillage for Lotus, designed to store, protect, and transport rear-end panels on-site. The solution keeps each component in a defined position, protects contact areas using moulded PU supports, and facilitates internal handling through a robust structure prepared for industrial use.
Client requirement
Lotus required a specific solution to safely store and move panels, preventing damage during internal transport, temporary storage, and daily handling in production.
The panels required controlled securing, protected supports, and a configuration that prevented unwanted movement within the stillage. Furthermore, the equipment had to facilitate identification, protect the contents, and adapt to internal plant standards, including signage, external protection, and handling elements.
The requirement was not simply to manufacture a metal container, but to develop a solution that combined part protection, operational access, structural robustness, and visual control.
Solution developed by Acres
The design focused on creating a support and retention system that kept the panels correctly positioned without damaging their surfaces. To achieve this, the equipment combines a robust metal structure with protected contact zones, locking arms, and closure elements that help control the part during movement and storage.
The solution also incorporates external protection, access via a hinged lid, and points prepared for forklift handling, allowing the assembly to be integrated into the production flow without relying on improvised packaging or generic supports.
Main elements of the solution:
- Welded carbon steel structure for intensive industrial use.
- Powder coat finish for greater durability on-site.
- Lower and lateral supports in moulded PU to protect contact areas.
- Locking arms in moulded PU to keep panels in position.
- Hinged lid with gas struts for easy opening.
- Reinforced transparent PVC cover to protect the contents.
- Fork pockets for forklift handling.
- Side and rear panels for external protection of the assembly.
- Lotus visual identification, including labels, logo, and ID plate.
- Design adapted to plant usage standards, with closure elements, rivets, and signage.
